Celebrating 100 Years
The Swormville Fire Company was established on January 25, 1918. This 100% Volunteer company has been proudly serving Amherst and Clarence since then. We are in the hamlet of Swormville located within the two towns at 6971 Transit Road Swormville, NY 14051. Mission Statement:
A. To provide Fire Protection, protect life, protect property and render services in case of accidents, calamities and other emergencies in connection with which the services of firefighters may be required, to the territory in which operations of the Company principally conducted and to the territory adjacent thereto, including any request for assistance under the mutual aid system.
B. To inculcate love of country, good citizenship, civic virtue and self-sacrifice and to perpetuate the spirit which from the earliest days has actuated volunteer firefighters in the rendition of services of the highest type in the protection of life and property, without the hope of fee or awards.

Within the territorial limits of the Town of Clarence, there are six Volunteer Fire Departments*:
The town of Clarence covers an area of fifty-two square miles with a population of over 30,000 people.
Within the territorial limits of the Town of Newstead, there are two Volunteer Fire Departments*:
The town of Newstead covers an area of fifty-one square miles with a population of over 8,000 people.
